Power of Acceptance

Nothing in life comes free. You cannot live life as if nothing is happening, yet life continues, and you pay the cost of everything you choose to engage in.
When you get involved in something, you become a part of it. For instance, if you desire pleasure in life, you cannot merely observe it from a distance and feel fulfilled. To truly experience pleasure, you must actively participate in it.
Now, how do you experience pleasure in life? Whether you believe in God, the universe, or none of the above, the truth is, we only have our five senses to enjoy everything in this world—there are no alternative ways.
Five Senses
- Eyes
- Ears
- Smell (Nose)
- Taste (Tongue)
- Skin (Feelings)

Without delving too deeply, it becomes clear that all pleasures reside in the brain, as interpreted through signals sent by these five senses. These feelings are conveyed as electrical signals, and the brain, with its remarkable capabilities, bridges the gaps to create the experience of enjoyment.
Now, you may ask: Where does acceptance fit into all of this? Consider this—every so-called pleasure you believe you have enjoyed is merely a series of signals interpreted by your brain. You don’t question it, and yet you feel satisfied. That is acceptance.
When you feel pleasure or believe you are enjoying something, you are, in truth, convincing yourself that the experience is pleasurable. Acceptance is at the core of it all. Although you may find it hard to accept everything you encounter, the reality is that acceptance is all you have. You cannot truly reject anything that happens to you. Even when you complain or resist, you eventually come to terms with it—that’s acceptance. Take medicine, for example. While it may aid in controlling or curing an illness, it is ultimately your brain and your body that play the central role in healing.
So, Acceptance is everything you have. Though you find it hard to accept everything you come across, but in real sense all you have is acceptance. You cannot reject anything happening to you. You just crib about it and eventually accept it. If it is medicine that helps to control spread or control virus but are you aware it is your brain or You who cure yourself.
Eventually, everything boils down to acceptance. You are always presented with two choices:
- Accept it and move on.
- Resist it, complain about it, and remain stuck.
To move from any situation, just accept it, if possible be grateful for it and you will be moved to next situation.
When you choose to resist and complain, you trap yourself in the situation because of fear—fear of the unknown outcome. That’s how people become stuck in negative circumstances.
The key to moving forward lies in acceptance. Embrace what comes your way; if possible, feel gratitude for it. Acceptance allows you to progress and leads you to the next phase of life.
